Silver Maple
Silver Maple, also known as Creek Maple, is a hardwood tree species native to Pennsylvania. Silver Maple trees can grow upwards of 85 feet tall, and one was even seen growing to a width of over 21.5 feet wide in a Pennsylvania yard. These trees are capable of growing 12 feet every 5 years and are able to live upwards of 100 years. Silver Maple is capable of producing sap for syrup but is far less commonly used compared to another species, the Sugar Maple. To identify the Silver Maple, look for its silver bark and "helicopter-like" seed pods!
