Cherry

Cherry trees are iconic in terms of American folklore and even sees use all the way back to 400 BC! Cherry wood is used for its extreme strength and durability, while also maintaining a beautiful finish. Cherry has seen less use as of late because the population either prefers Walnut, a dark wood, or clean white wood, such as Oaks. Cherry trees are capable of growing upwards of 50 feet tall and 2 feet wide, and also can live to an age of 30-60 years, depending on the species. If you are looking to identify a cherry tree, look for its "berry-like" fruit and flowers, which will also aid in understanding which species of Cherry tree it is!  If you would like more information on identifying cherry trees and their species, check out the sources below!
